Ravan

Ravan is a maker of the Persian setar, the delicate long-necked lute at the heart of Iranian classical music. Working in the Persian tradition, Ravan hand-builds each instrument around a bowl of walnut and maple, a mulberry soundboard and a mahogany neck — the tonewoods Iranian luthiers have long relied on for the setar’s warm, intimate voice.

Tapadum carries Ravan’s setars within its Persian classical collection, each instrument individually checked at our Brisighella, Italy showroom before dispatch. Where detailed workshop history is limited, we describe only what the instrument itself documents — its woods, its construction and its sound.
