Huobusi, Huba, and Amber are alternative names for Sugudu, also known as Segudu, in Chinese  This musical tradition is particularly prevalent in Lijiang Naxi Autonomous County, located in Yunnan Province.

Similar instruments exist within the cultures of Uyghur, Kirgiz, and Tibetan as ‘Komuz’ and ‘Dranyen’.

In the Naxi language, Sugudu translates to “one must learn”.
