Masterfully handcrafted by renowned luthier Necati Gürbüz, this Persian Kamancheh combines refined artistry with deep traditional craftsmanship. Necati Gürbüz, a celebrated figure in Turkish instrument-making, began his career in 1983. Known for his expertise in classic instruments like the oud, kemenche, and qanun, Gürbüz’s journey has been one of perseverance and skill.
Necati Gürbüz’s background is rooted in tradition. He initially learned by observing established luthiers in Izmir and has, since then, refined his craft, creating pieces for Turkish State Chorus musicians and exploring over 40 different traditional instruments, often without available resources or original models. This dedication has led him to become a respected figure in the world of instrument-making, with his workshop being one of the last in the historic Kestelli neighborhood.
Crafted with high-quality mulberry and walnut, and topped with a delicate fetal sheep skin, this Kamancheh embodies the dedication to traditional material and sound that defines Gürbüz’s work. Ideal for musicians and collectors alike, this instrument promises the richness of Persian music heritage and the durability of artisanal expertise.
