Crafted from high-quality walnut or mulberry wood, the bowl-shaped body enhances its natural resonance. The soundboard, typically made of animal skin, gives the instrument its warm and slightly nasal tone—ideal for conveying the lyrical soul of Lori folk melodies and Persian classical improvisations (dastgah).
