Ali Riza Acar is an Istanbul-based master of Turkish and Anatolian woodwinds, with five decades devoted to the reed and rim-blown instruments of the tradition — the kaval, mey, duduk, zurna, and ney. Each instrument family demands its own bore, reed, and tuning knowledge, built up over a lifetime at the bench.
