The day after his concert with Trio Karimi Frana Montanari, Peppe Frana stayed at Tapadum Ethnic Music Store for another round of his workshop on modal music — the shared foundations of the Turkish-Ottoman makam, the Arabic maqam, the Persian dastgah, and the Hindustani raga, worked through practical exercises aimed at building improvisational fluency.
Two people joined the workshop in person, with eight more following along online.
