Trio Swara & Workshop: Persian and North Indian Music at Tapadum
May 20 combined two workshops on Hindustani and Persian music with an evening concert by Trio Swara, bringing together the classical traditions of India and Persia.
May 20 was dedicated to the classical music of India and Persia, in workshop and concert form. The afternoon opened at 14:00 with an introduction to Hindustani music, open to all instruments and voices, followed at 15:30 by a session on the Persian radif system (Dastgah Mahur) led by Darioush Madani.
In the evening, Trio Swara took the stage: Darioush Madani on tar and setar, Simone Mulazzani on bansuri and alghoza, and Arjan Madani on tombak and daf — music and rhythms flowing from the great meeting point between the classical and folk traditions of India and Persia.
Two people came for the concert, with almost thirty more following along online.
