Description
The Volume strings set for long neck saz baglama brings together three complete sets of seven strings each, 21 strings in all. It is meant for players of the long neck baglama who play often and want spares of the same gauges at hand. Compared with the Volume set for the short neck, the treble strings are slightly heavier: 0.20 and 0.30 mm instead of 0.18 and 0.28 mm.
What each set contains
Each of the three sets contains the seven strings of the baglama’s usual layout:
- 3 strings of 0.20 mm
- 2 strings of 0.30 mm
- 1 string of 0.43 mm for the low register
- 1 string of 0.58 mm for the low register
Fitting with ball ends
Every string has a ball end: the ball seats in the instrument’s tailpiece, so no knot is needed, the change is quick and each string is anchored the same way every time. Change the strings one at a time so the bridge stays in place. New strings stretch during the first hours of playing, so retune several times until they settle.

String care
Wipe the strings with a soft, dry cloth after playing to remove moisture and the oil from your fingers, which shorten string life more than anything else. Keep the instrument in its case, away from radiators and sudden changes in humidity. When the sound turns dull or the tuning stops holding, it is time to fit a fresh set; with three sets in the pack, the replacement is already there.
