Description
The lotus mandala steel tongue drum centres a layered lotus medallion on a compact, beginner-friendly instrument. This 8-note steel tongue drum is tuned in D Kurd (D minor) — the gentle, meditative scale at the heart of the handpan world — with a blooming lotus mandala etched into its bronze face.
Materials & body
The shell is cut from resonant steel and given a warm antique-bronze finish under a protective coating, so the surface keeps its glow with very little care. The lotus mandala is etched into the metal itself — never a sticker or print — so it will not peel or fade with playing.
The tongues & tuning
Eight tuned tongues are cut into the playing surface and voiced in D Kurd (D minor), a forgiving scale with no “wrong” notes — ideal for beginners. The eight-note layout is simple to learn and easy to carry. Played with the mallets or bare fingers, each tongue gives a clean, sustained tone.
