Echo
Daf Maker
Iranian maker of the Persian daf — the wide single-headed frame drum of Sufi, Persian, and Kurdish music — building synthetic-head frame drums ringed with metal jingles, carried by Tapadum within its Persian and Kurdish percussion collection.
Echo is an Iranian maker of the Persian daf, the large single-headed frame drum at the heart of Sufi ceremony and Persian and Kurdish music. Each Echo daf sets a wide wooden frame with a synthetic head and rows of small metal rings along the inner rim — the shimmer that answers every stroke.
Working in Iran, the home of the daf, Echo builds synthetic-head drums valued for their stability: the head holds its tuning through shifts in humidity and temperature and needs no warming before playing. Tapadum carries Echo within its Persian and Kurdish frame-drum collection, chosen for ring response, head quality, and balanced feel.
