Description
The geometric mandala tongue drum pairs a deeply calming sound with a sharp, architectural design. This 10-note steel tongue drum is tuned in D Kurd (D minor) — the meditative scale loved across the handpan and sound-healing world — and its bronze face carries a precise, kaleidoscopic mandala of interlocking stars and diamonds that holds the eye in perfect symmetry.
Materials & body
The shell is cut from resonant steel and finished in warm antique bronze beneath a protective coating that keeps its look with minimal care. The geometric mandala is engraved directly into the metal — a repeating lattice of six-point stars, diamonds and fine scrollwork radiating from a single centre — so the pattern is permanent and will not peel or wear with play.
The tongues & tuning
Ten tuned tongues are voiced in D Kurd (D minor), a scale with no “wrong” notes — every tongue resolves naturally against the others. Played with the included mallets or with bare fingertips, each note rings clear with a soft, rounded decay that makes simple melodies sound complete.
Geometric mandala & symbolism
Where a floral mandala suggests organic growth, this geometric mandala speaks the language of order and structure. Built from repeating stars and diamonds in exact symmetry, it echoes the tradition of sacred geometry — patterns used for centuries as a focus for concentration and balance. The eye follows the lines inward to the centre, the same way the drum’s steady tones guide the mind toward stillness. For a softer, organic motif in the same scale, see the companion Lotus Mandala tongue drum.
