This week, Tapadum joins Eufonica 2026, the music fair held at BolognaFiere from 15 to 17 May. For three days, we will be exhibiting in Pavilion 33 (Padiglione 33), with a stand built entirely around the instruments we know and love.

A fair about craft, not just commerce

Eufonica has become one of Italy’s reference points for the music world. Organised by BolognaFiere Group, it brings instrument makers, schools, musicians, and industry professionals together under one roof. The programme runs across workshops, masterclasses, live performances, and a great deal of room for conversation.

It is a fair about learning and craftsmanship as much as about trade. That is part of why it feels like the right place for us. The people who walk these halls are the ones who build instruments, teach them, and play them every day.

What we are bringing to Bologna

Most of Eufonica’s exhibitors come from the worlds of drums, guitars, and classical lutherie. We arrive with something a little different.

Our stand gathers instruments from across the Mediterranean, the Middle East, and the traditions that connect them: darbukas and ouds, baglamas and tanburs, handpans, santurs, setars, and more. Some are built in our own workshops in Izmir, where we run two separate ateliers — one for percussion, one for string instruments. Others come from independent master luthiers whose work we have followed and trusted for years.

What these instruments share is the idea that has guided Tapadum from the beginning: that a handcrafted instrument is a bridge between cultures, and that the best way to understand one is to pick it up and play it.

Come and play something new

We did not want a stand you simply walk past. Visitors are welcome to hold the instruments, ask how they are made, and try sounds they may never have played before.

Whether you are a percussionist, a string player, a music teacher, a collector, or a school looking to widen its instrument library, there will be something on the table for you — and someone glad to talk you through it. For us, Eufonica is also a chance to meet the people behind the music: the schools shaping new players, the makers refining their craft, and the musicians keeping these traditions alive.
