Feramis Aktas

Feramis Aktas is an İzmir master luthier devoted to the traditional Turkish oud. With forty-five years at the bench, his craft is rooted in the lineage of master Sinai Ozkan, under whom he trained from 1981 — a continuity of method passed directly from teacher to maker.

This collection brings together the Feramis Aktas ouds currently in our catalogue — instruments built in the classical Turkish style, voiced for the bright, articulate sound that Turkish maqam music asks of the oud. Each one is individually inspected for tuning stability, soundboard response, action, and string spacing by our string instruments specialist Sertan Sarioglu before it ships from our Brisighella, Italy showroom.
