Description
The botanical steel tongue drum brings a natural, garden-like pattern to a deeply calming instrument. This 10-note steel tongue drum is tuned in D Kurd (D minor) — the gentle, meditative scale at the heart of the handpan world — and its bronze face is etched with trailing leaves and flowers rather than a geometric mandala.
Materials & body
The shell is cut from resonant steel and given a warm antique-bronze finish under a protective coating, so the surface keeps its glow with very little care. The botanical pattern is etched into the metal itself — never a sticker or print — so it will not peel or fade with playing.
The tongues & tuning
Ten tuned tongues are cut into the playing surface and voiced in D Kurd (D minor), a forgiving scale where every tongue sits in harmony — there are no “wrong” notes. Played with the mallets or bare fingers, each tongue gives a clean, sustained tone with a soft, bell-like decay.
Botanical pattern & style
Where our other models carry a geometric mandala or a single symbol, this one takes a softer, organic route: a flowing botanical design of leaves and blossoms that feels grown rather than drawn. It suits a plant-filled room or anyone drawn to natural motifs. For a geometric mandala instead, see the Geometric Mandala tongue drum in the same scale.
